Scholarships for hearing impaired children studying at CPAL’s School “Fernando Wiese Eslava”.

Investment needed:
  • Annual Scholarship for 1 child:         US$ 2,500
  • Annual Scholarship for 100 children: US$ 250,000
Project beneficiaries:

Disadvantaged children suffering from profound hearing impairment.

 
Project goals and expected impact:
  • Stimulate acquisition of spontaneous language skills in hearing impaired infants and children.
  • Provide a flexible and individualized learning program focused on the attainment of skills for children to reach their maximum potential.
  • Promote an adequate socio-emotional development for the children to adapt successfully to their communities and overall society. 
  • Achieve early integration of hearing impaired children to the main school system.
  • Support the families of children with hearing loss by providing values, knowledge and training to enable them to participate in their children’s educational process.
  • Provide informative campaigns to promote the prevention of deafness.
  • Raise awareness about the hearing impaired children’s community.

Mission:

“ Fernando Wiese Eslava School” offers high quality auditory - oral education to infants, children, and adolescents suffering from hearing loss and poor cognitive skills management. The goal is to achieve early integration of students into the main school system. To this end, the School employs the use of hearing aids and specialized up-to-date training methodologies. The School also incorporates the respective families in the education process and develops awareness raising campaigns about non-discriminatory practices.
